“One of our former shelter residents has been managing the thrift store since April of 2011, but she now has decided to step down and pursue her educational and personal goals.  We applaud her decision, but will miss her leadership.  Our store now needs a volunteer store manager who could donate at least 20-25 hours per week as a lead person in the store. 

 This store manager would preferably be someone with retail experience, especially related to the thrift store world.  Hours are flexible, could be broken into daily shifts or could be worked into several days of the week.  Responsibilities would include overseeing the store operations:  handling the register processes (check out, etc), handling a weekly schedule, assisting with donations, working with volunteers assigning tasks such as store displays, basically being on hand for questions for volunteers.  Tasks and responsibilities vary according to daily needs.

 Process for anyone interested:

1. Complete volunteer application (if haven’t already submitted), form attached to this email.  You can save it as a separate document to have on hand to print or email.
2. Provide DOB (date of birth) and all full names for background check.
3. Submit a letter as to why they think they would be a good fit for us and the store, what their availability is for interviewing.  Not only are we checking their motivation, but also their spelling and writing skills.  I, like Roxie, LOVED spellling & English!!!  J
4. They can send an email and submit the letter attachment to OR they can drop off it at the store, OR office, OR mail to 1700 E Rum River Dr S, Cambridge.  I don’t want my cell number given out however, am starting to limit access. 
5. Need their phone numbers for interview process, return calls to them week of Feb 6^th or 13^th, if not sooner.
