Black Dog Hill, The Refuge Network's Shelter

Black Dog Hill is now able to provide safety and shelter for up to 15 women and children recovering from domestic and family violence situations.  Opening a shelter is a huge undertaking, one which we could not do alone.  Although, organizations such as the United Way, the Mardag Foundation, WCA-Pillsbury and the Otto Bremer Foundation have shown us amazing support we still need your help for the ongoing expenses of our shelter and office operations.

Statewide, over 132,000 women and children are assaulted each year, with many others unreported. Annually, over 4,800 women and 6,000 children and youth are provided emergency shelter in Minnesota.  The Refuge Network’s mission is to help bring an end to domestic abuse by providing supportive, non-judgmental services to the families affected by domestic violence in East Central Minnesota.
